FH+H Performs Electronic and Remote Notarizations

Did you know Virginia was the first state to allow remote notary? FH+H can perform both electronic and remote notarizations, offering our clients a way to complete business transactions while remaining socially distanced.

What is the difference between electronic notary and remote notary?

Electronic notarization allows for documents to be signed and notarized digitally, however, the signer is still required to be in the same room as the notary.

Remote notarization allows for documents to be signed and notarized digitally, without the notary and signer being physically present in the same room or even in the same state.

FH+H can assist clients with both electronic and remote notarizations.

Am I eligible to have my documents notarized remotely?

The remote signer is required to pass identification verification in order to have documents remotely notarized. The verification is handled by a third party using information gathered from various public records databases. The verification asks the signer a series of challenge questions that only the signer should know the answers to. FH+H does not see or have access to the answers to the challenge questions, it is merely a way to verify identity of the signer.
