FH+H Partner Kevin Byrnes and Associate Rachel Leahey recently assisted an active duty member of the military in enforcing her rights under Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Act (USERRA).
A civilian human resources agent attempted to curtail the service member’s reemployment rights – ruling out any possibility of return to her civilian position after her military service ended. When FH+H attorneys presented the civilian employer with a persuasive legal explanation of its erroneous and illegal actions, it retracted its threat against our client.
A firm understanding of the relevant law is indispensable in protecting a client’s rights. Led by Mr. Byrnes, FH+H’s USERRA practice group is committed to helping government and private employees who are current or past members of the Armed Forces on matters related to their employment.
